Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

SEO better known as search engine optimization is important to implement when you are wanting to grow your YouTube channel. You need to research what type of videos are people searching for in your niche or your target audience. The way you can do that is simply going to YouTube typing in a topic in the search bar and seeing what results pop up. The results that are popping up are what your target audience is searching for. So you want to make videos about that. Over time you will get views which means your target audience is watching your video. That also means by them watching a good amount of your video you are gaining watch time which is what you want so that YouTube will continue to push your video to more people that are interested in that topic.

2. TubeBuddy.

TubeBuddy is a video optimization tool designed for YouTube. TubeBuddy helps you to find the best tags for your videos plus it also lets you search different titles for your video and it tells you whether it’s a good search term to rank for in the search. I also believe in TubeBuddy that you can also test out different thumbnails to see which one will perform the best. Before you start filming your videos I would recommend that you start thinking about what your title is going to be. You want to put together a title that says what the video is going to be but you also want to make it enticing so that people interested in the topic want to click it and watch your video. You also want to start thinking about what your thumbnail will be. The thumbnail is the picture that you see above the title of different videos that are scrolling on your home page of YouTube. So for the thumbnail, you want to make sure that you capture a picture of things happening in the video but I find that having a picture in the thumbnail of yourself tends to perform better. You just want to make sure that your thumbnail looks nice and not too busy looking. You really have to play around with your titles and thumbnails and see what works best for your audience.

4. Film The Videos.

So now that you know what you want to create videos about here comes the fun part pick a day when you plan to batch film your videos. I say to keep yourself consistent with uploading content I recommend batch creating more than one video and film anywhere from two to four videos. That way you don’t have to film videos every week you already have the videos filmed so all you have to do is just edit them and upload one a week.

5. Edit.

So after you film your videos you need to learn how to edit your videos. In the beginning editing is very time consuming especially when you have no clue on what you are doing. The only way to learn how to edit is by editing your videos. I use CapCut but there are tons of different editing software you just have to find one that works for you. If you find yourself struggling with editing you can always YouTube whatever editing software that your using and I promise you a ton of videos will pop up showing you how to edit on that particular software. That is what I did when I was learning how to edit on CapCut.

6. Consistency.

Consistency is key when it comes to growing your YouTube channel. You need to be consistent in your branding, upload schedule, personality, and just the overall vibe of your channel. You have to show up consistently if you want to attract, grow, and nurture your audience or community.

7. Respond Back To Your Comments.

When you start getting comments on your videos you must respond. That is how you're going to nurture and grow your audience into a true community. As you grow your YouTube channel and you are getting tons and tons of comments on your videos you may not be able to respond to every comment. As a small channel, you should be responding to every comment. Show up for your community and your community will show up for you.

8. Be Yourself.

To grow a successful YouTube channel you have to show up as your authentic self. Don’t try and be like someone else. Every time you get in front of your camera you need to be yourself. If you are bubbly and have a large outgoing personality show that. If you are like me and are introverted with a super laid-back and chill personality show that. Your vibe will attract your tribe. Share and show your imperfections that is how you will become relatable to your audience and community.

Patience.

Growing a successful YouTube takes time and for most people does not happen overnight. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule that some are overnight successes that did grow extremely fast. Trust those people who are considered unicorns because that is definitely not the norm. The majority grow slowly and steadily. So don’t feel bad if you are not seeing the results right away. You have to be patient and know that it takes time. So keep going and keep putting in the hard work, because eventually you will see the growth.
